ABOUT US
The SorS Academy was founded in July 2023 with the goal of providing education in the field of insurance in an innovative and unique way.
In addition to its 25 permanent members, at the beginning of 2024, SorS Academy gained 10 new supporter members from the domestic and international insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage industries.
The work of SorS Academy is supported by domestic and foreign stakeholders such as the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the credit rating agency AM Best, Intermap, the Economic Institute of Serbia, Alta Bank Serbia, Comtrade, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering at the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, and other prominent representatives.
The President of SorS Academy is Mrs. Zorana Pejčić, who has played a distinguished role in the insurance and reinsurance industry for over 25 years.
The idea for fast and efficient training emerged as a response and solution to the evident shortage of employees in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
The goals of SorS Academy include connecting members, supporter members, and friends of SorS Academy, as well as insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage companies and commercial and industrial sector businesses, with the aim of structured staff education. Additionally, the Academy fosters the exchange of professional experiences while simultaneously promoting the insurance and reinsurance industry to the broader public.
CHAIRMAN
Zorana Pejčić
Mrs. Zorana Pejčić Chairman and Founder of SorS Academy was born on 29.08.1972. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade. She has more than 25 years of work experience in the insurance and reinsurance business.
Over the last ten years (2014 – 2024), she has held the position of President of the Board of Dunav Re – Reinsurance Company. The reinsurance company Dunav Re, under the leadership of Zorana Pejčić, has recorded historical results in the period from 2014 to the present. Once a small local company, today it is the third company in the Ex Yu region, has an international credit rating of B++ (AM Best) and operates in over 112 countries around the world.
She is also licensed by: IPMA – Licensed Trainer and Consultant Level and Cambridge University – Sustainable Leadership License.
Membership in professional organizations:
- Association of Insurers of Serbia – Member of the Supervisory Board (2014 – 2024),
- Association SorS Sarajevo (2010 – present),
- Association Sors Academy – President (2023 – present).
She is the author of many articles related to insurance and reinsurance.
In May 2024, as part of the regional event of the selection of the best women managers, leaders and entrepreneurs from the region of the former Yugoslavia, Marily Business Forum, she was awarded the “Woman Leader” award.
Zorana Pejčić lives and works in Belgrade.
